What an exciting morning we had at school. We had a visit from Seth Franco, a former member of the Harlem Globetrotters. He shared his story and message of accepting help when we need it and never giving up. We were also so impressed with his skills with the basketball. He showed us a lot of really neat tricks he can do! After recess today, we did a short math, language arts and french lesson. In Math, we continued to practice constructing line graphs and in Language Arts, we continued our "making connections" unit with our read aloud. We continue to be amazed that this is a true story. In French, we continued the matching activity we started yesterday about important events of the past. After lunch, we had science, silent reading and religion. Some of us also went to the library to work with Ms. Oldford on a project. In Science, we continued to discuss the ways in which we use electricity and in Religion we continued to read about and discuss Inuit spiritual beliefs.

Tonight's Homework:

1. Read 20 minutes

2. Music tomorrow

3. Book orders due Jan. 12

4. By Monday, record all the ways you use electricity for one whole day (jot notes on a piece of loose leaf paper - eg. -alarm clock, -turn on lights, -hot water in shower, -hair dryer, -toaster, -refrigerator for juice, etc....).
