We had another busy day at school. In Language Arts, we did a mini-lesson on onomatopoeia. This is a big word that refers to words that read and spell like their sound, like BOOM! or CRASH! or even MEOW!

We then broke up into small groups. Some worked with Ms. Duggan on reading activties, some worked with Ms. McDonald on writing activities and some did independent reading and writing activities. In Math, we continued to work on equivalent ratios. We will be finishing up with that topic in a couple of days and moving on to ratio and percent. Our homework this week is about percent and we will be starting that on Wednesday. However, so we could get started if we wanted to, Ms. McDonald showed us how to do it and we think that percent will be easy! In Social Studies we did a perspective-taking activity and had to put ourselves in the shoes of a refugee coming to Canada. It was interesting and some of us realized it is hard to understand how other people feel. In Religion, we read and discussed how we can help people faced with situations of poverty and illustrated our ideas in our exercise book.

Tonight's Homework:

1. Read and record

2. Homework due Friday

3. Gym tomorrow

4. Book order due tomorrow
